Project description:
For DAS weekend this small place (hands on sound stage) will be provided with el camino sonoro, a parcours of four different sound installations ranging between mechanic and reactive electroacoustic themes – dealing with the distinct character of the club´s furnishing, it´s unique spatial condition and the uncommon location above a supermarket in a very crowded street.
El camino sonoro, ein Parcours von vier verschiedene Klanginstallationen, wird während des DAS weekends in/auf der hands on sound stage zu erleben sein: im Spannungsfeld von rein mechanischen bis hin zu reaktiven elektroakustischen Arbeiten soll auf die Besonderheiten des Clubs eingegangen werden – seine Möbel, seine Geometrie und seine exponierte Lage über einem Supermarkt am immer belebten Kotti.

Robert Heel: Robert Heel is an audiovisual artist, VJ and visual musician. He holds a Master of Arts (UdK Berlin, master class Karl Bartos) and Bachelor of Media Design (FHSH) degree. The „Robert Heel Instructional Films“ are a series of visual music compositions, which follow the aesthetics of early American instructional films. They are on the one hand a parody on instructional films of the 1950ies and 60ies, on the other hand they are a guideline on 4/4 bar techno music, visual life and artistic survival.

Robosonic: In the past years, ROBOSONIC aka Sacha Robotti and Cord Henning Labuhn have been building a reputation for producing multidimensional electronic music with their highly acclaimed debut album “Sturm und Drang” [accompanied by a series of 12” vinyl], released on their own baby label DISKOMAFIA in November 2007. Tracks by ROBOSONIC have since been remixed by stars like Oliver Koletzki [Cocoon, Stil vor Talent] & Florian Meindl [Trapez, Flash], Jesse Rose [Made To Play], Christopher Just [Gigolo, Kitsuné], Deadset [Frontroom] or Alexander Robotnick and played by a long list of famous DJ names.

Jan Hertz: Jan Hertz is an electronic musician and laptop performer from Berlin. He explores and creates his very own definition of electronic music with roots in both club-orientated and experimental digital sound-aesthetics. He is a member of the electro-pop-band „Computerpilots“.

Akustik Haack: Akustik Haack is a Hamburg based DJ and Producer with a focus on deep but uplifting house and techno tunes. He has been playing clubs in hamburg and berlin as solo artist and as part of the improvisational-techno collective „Treibgut“.

The hands on sound stage is a small club at kottbusser tor usually playing a variety of independent live-dj-music like trendy underground electro or traditional mexican fiesta on weekends. also every two other weeks lectures or workshops on arts and media are being held by professionals and amateurs. not more than about 70 people fit into the loft-like one-room venue with a panoramic balcony facing the kottbusser tor.
hands on sound stage ist ein kleiner Club über dem Kaiser’s am Kottbusser Tor. Meist spielen hier an den Wochenenden Indie-, Elektro- oder mexikanische Fiesta-Bands und DJs. Zweiwöchentlich halten Profis und Liebhaber Vorträge oder Workshops zu kunst-, medien- und kulturwissenschaftlichen Themen ab. Nicht mehr als 70 Leute passen in den ungewöhnlich geschnittenen Raum mit einem Panoramabalkon direkt auf den immer aufgeregt-belebten Platz am Kotti.
